About this Event
Social media and entertainment apps are battling for our kids’ time, and their mental health, attention spans, and self-esteem are caught in the crossfire. This technology is designed with powerful algorithms meant to capture and monopolize attention. As a result, kids are developing addictions to social media, games, and their devices, and parents are left wondering what to do and how to prepare their kids.
In this talk, guest speaker Dino Ambrosi, the founder of Project Reboot, will share insight into why tech addiction happens, guide parents on how to talk about screen time with kids—including how to avoid the well-intentioned mistakes parents often make—and offer practical tips for families to maintain balanced relationships with technology. Bring your good questions for the Q&A with Ambrosi.
About Dino Ambrosi
Dino Ambrosi is a social entrepreneur on a mission to help students build healthy relationships with technology. After years of struggling with his own unhealthy tech use, he created a course that helped over 100 UC Berkeley students reduce their screen time by an average of 3.5 hours per day. In 2022, he launched Project Reboot in an effort to spread his message to a broader audience. He has since spoken to over 30,000 students and parents around the world, released a TEDx talk titled “The Battle for Your Time” that has been viewed over 2 million times, and created an online tech addiction support group with members on six continents.
