Since January 2023, he has been traveling the country with his wife in an Airstream travel trailer, pursuing catching trout in all 50 states and visiting each state's high point. During that time, Jeff has caught trout in 39 states and 3 Canadian provinces, across 77 different streams and rivers. He has been successful on 75 of those 77 waters, i.e., only been skunked twice, the first time he fished them, and his story is that there were extenuating circumstances in both instances. Jeff is happy to admit that there are far better fishermen than himself, yet he feels he has developed a pretty good system and process for approaching new waters.
