Techniche Records Review Performance
Very little is known about Techniche Records. They have intentionally fostered an off-line/off-grid lifestyle. They purposely have no online presence and no social media. They protect and curate a vast collection of musical catalogs for their own material and over a dozen other artists; all off-line. The only way to experience their material is to be present for their live presentations. Recorded material can only be obtained by a personal interaction with employees of Techniche Records, face to face. They only book their live appearances by word of mouth.
One fine day George (owner of the Soundplex) received a tip about their project. He talked to Jacqueline Renan (the most public member of their organization) and reviewed a sampler of songs from Techniche Records. On the strength of the material alone he made the journey to their mountain top recording studio in an undisclosed location. There he spoke with Marques Eadon-Smith (the least public member of their organization). Marques performed a song or two on their in-house sound stage for George and George offered the Soundplex to showcase some music. The union made sense, a unique performance space for a unique musical project.
Usually, they only play private shows for private parties but The Soundplex was a perfect fit; a public performance space that felt as intimate as a private party. Perfect! Other than their ambient sound installation at the Pennsylvania Academy of The Fine Arts, they only have private parties booked for the foreseeable future so they are unavailable anywhere else.
