Through our Women Like Me mentoring programme, we are diversifying Degree Apprenticeships and creating pathways for women in industries where they have traditionally been underrepresented.
UWE Bristol’s strategy is to be a catalyst for social change, and this event highlights our commitment to addressing educational and social inequalities. By working closely with employers and regional partners, we are creating new pathways to higher-level skills and expanding access to education for students of all ages and backgrounds.

WTPN offering
Founded in 2004, the Western Training Provider Network (WTPN) connects training and education providers across the West of England to share opportunities, best practices, and collaborate for maximum impact.
Through the West of England Apprenticeship Service and the Share to Support Scheme, WTPN helps SMEs leverage apprenticeships to diversify, upskill their workforce, and grow their businesses. Funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and commissioned by the West of England Combined Authority, these programs offer valuable support to local businesses. If you're a business in Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, or South Gloucestershire looking to recruit new talent or upskill your team, WTPN’s expert consultants can guide you through every step of the apprenticeship process.
They'll be offering the following workshop:
Expert Insights: Apprenticeships for your Business
Tailored to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the West of England Region (Bristol, B&NES, South Gloucestershire) to dispel common myths about apprenticeships, highlight their benefits, and provide practical guidance for implementing successful apprenticeship programs. This workshop covers the following:
Understand the social and economic benefits that Apprenticeships can bring to your business and staff.
Understand available funding for SME’s via the Levy Share to cover the training costs of an Apprenticeship.
Understand how to navigate Apprenticeship standards and how they can be used to recruit fresh talent or upskill existing staff.
