About this Event

Tech Savvy: Introduction to cyber safety

The internet is just a part of life now, and there’s so much you can do online. But should you trust the internet? The simple answer is yes. With the right tools and a few commonsense precautions, you can protect yourself online. If you put security software on your computer and are careful about giving personal information to strangers, you should be just fine.

Date: Thursday 17 October, 2024

Time: 10.15am-12.30pm

Location: Learning Lab, Level 2, Harry Bailey Memorial Library, Yarrila Place

What You'll Learn:

  • Do I need to protect myself on the internet?
  • The threats you might face
  • What does security software do?
  • Choosing security software
  • Keeping yourself safe

  • Laptop with the ability to connect to the internet (if you don’t have one, please let us know and Coffs Harbour Libraries will arrange a laptop for you to learn on.)
