The Weekend of Independent Puppet Theatre (Vikend neodvisnega lutkovnega gledališča – VNLG) is the first Slovenian festival dedicated to showcasing the non-institutional puppet scene. Over four days, 13 performances for children and adults will take place, along with a round table discussion and festival gatherings.By bringing together independent puppet theatres, we are revitalizing the NGO puppet scene in Slovenia, as non-institutional puppet theatres have been in decline for several years, with the number of performances rapidly decreasing. VNLG has thus become an annual event that serves as a showcase festival for the entire Slovenian independent puppet scene, with a focus on new productions and presenting independent theatres to foreign selectors.
During VNLG, the international festival Lutke also takes place, which is produced biennially by the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre. You can find the festival’s program at festival-lutke.com.
Ticket reservations are required to attend performances. All performances are free of charge. Ticket reservations will be available starting September 9, 2024.
