Why Open Labs

The Teaming with AI - Open Labs is a event series that moves beyond theory, offering participants a unique, hands-on opportunity to explore how artificial intelligence can transform team collaboration and enable high performing teams. Our “Doing, Not Talking” approach encourages participants to dive into practical AI applications within team settings, experimenting with real tools and techniques to shape the future of AI-enabled teamwork.

Pushing the Boundaries of Team-Based AI Collaboration

In each lab, we create smaller teams that tackle specific topics, while going through at least one quick-and-dirty iteration of AI-enabled teamwork. Topics may include AI design sprints around specific functions (like marketing, strategy, or design), or experiments on team collaboration (like facilitation with AI, conflict resolution, or team building), or hackathons on AI tools for teams. We research and reflect on key motivations, needs, and pain points of AI collaboration, identify opportunities, and build and test prototypes, leading us to newer, smarter questions and deepened understanding.

Hands-On AI Skills Development

These Open Labs are primarily about growing your AI collaboration skills through hands-on experience. The shared workshop documentation will serve as a valuable resource for your own practice or organization as you navigate the evolving world of AI-augmented teamwork. The documentation will also contribute to the community's shared knowledge and possibly give key insights for upcoming white papers.

Being part of this community driven initiative, you'll help shape the future of AI-human collaboration, exploring how AI tools can enhance team productivity, creativity, and decision-making, while also managing associated risks or ethical challenges and preparing for various potential AI futures. Your insights and experiences will be invaluable in navigating the evolving landscape of AI-enabled teamwork and addressing the challenges and opportunities it presents.

• Welcome & Introduction: Overview of event goals and objectives for AI-enhanced teamwork.
• AI-First Concept Exploration & Tool Setup: Teams define AI-First approaches and prepare AI tools for collaborative problem-solving.
