In support of Thomas "Tommy" Parzymieso, we are holding a fundraising event on Saturday, May 3rd at Wings Meeting Place in grateful partnership with My DMD Hero, a 501 (c)(3) organization; tickets for event entry can be purchased via the link above. The proceeds from this event will directly fund imperative home modifications, specialized equipment and other critical resources that will empower Tommy to maintain his independence and quality-of-life for years to come.
Tommy is battling Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). As you may be aware, DMD is a severe and progressive muscle-wasting disorder that often shortens life expectancy.
Like most individuals with DMD who reach his age, Tommy relies on a wheelchair and needs assistance with everyday activities of living. This comes with many challenges as our world is not completely accessible and insurance often does not cover all the expenses needed to support people like Tommy, such as wheelchair adaptations in his home or a generator to power his medical equipment. Our end goal is to ensure that Tommy can age with comfort and dignity in his home. Certainly, we all have this same desire for ourselves and our loved ones.
