Teaching Peace in HE: Building Cultures of Peace Non-violence and Demilitarization in Universities.

-Exposing the links between HE teaching and the British military establishment-Building pedagogies of peace through the development of new teaching and research methods.

-Exploring how university teaching serves to justify legally and ethically questionable new military technologies and strategies.

-Proposing strategies for the creation of classrooms as genuinely peaceful, inclusive and decolonized spaces.

Speakers include:

  • Andrew Feinstein, arms trade expert and former ANC MP
  • Alana Lentin, Professor in Cultural and Social Analysis, Western Sydney University
  • Joe Glenton, Afghanistan veteran, author and peace activist
  • Jinsella, executive director of Demilitarise Education (dEd)
