About this Event
Teaching how and why the Holocaust happened requires sensitivity and awareness of the subject matter's complexity. This workshop will share foundational resources and lesson plans from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum to address the challenges and support the opportunities teachers encounter when teaching about this history.
Join trainers from the USHMM to learn about their classroom resources to support middle and high school teachers, with specific training covering: Guidelines for Teaching the Holocaust, the USHMM Timeline, USHMM Holocaust Literature Guide, using primary sources in the classroom, and teaching about antisemitism.
Earn five (5) Professional Development hours and return to your classroom with books and other classroom resources.
