About this Event
Tea & Tunes Gaelic Lunchtime Concerts with two of Scotland’s finest emerging traditional artists, Calum Mcilroy and Niamh MacKaveney have come together with a joint vision to deliver high quality performances of the traditional music they love. On mandolin, guitar, and vocals, Calum demonstrates his intricate flat-picking and distinct skill in composition of lyrical melodies and narrative song. He was winner of the 2024 BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician competition and Niamh Niamh MacKaveney graduated from the University of Glasgow with a Bachelor of Music Honours degree, studying violin under the tuition of Greg Lawson and Gabi Maas, and Gaelic song under the guidance of Mairi MacInnes.
