The Imaginists, Global Mosaic Foundation, and King Manor Museum present TEA AND SCANDAL WITH JANE AUSTEN Free Open House at Historic King Manor Drink tea in an elegant eighteenth-century drawing room Take part in a marathon reading of Austen’s novella Lady Susan Bring your own knitting, embroidery, or other quiet handcraft Make Regency-style valentines using craft supplies provided featuring MISS AUSTEN SPILLS THE TEA Between 2:00 p.m. and 2:30, historian and educator Lena Yasutake demonstrates the Regency manner of making tea, while discussing the role of tea, etiquette, and gossip in Austen's novels and letters. Participants can see, hear, taste, and touch throughout the presentation. Period costumes of the early 1800s (from Jane's or your own culture) are admired, though by no means required!
