I cordially invite you to a special exhibition in my hometown of Trenton, NJ. This city has had a significant impact on my artwork. I received my first camera at the age of 12 in North Trenton, and it was here at Artworks Trenton where I found my voice as an abstract painter. Born and raised in Trenton, NJ, I have had the opportunity to witness and take part in the beauty that art has brought to this town. Creating an art community that is undeniably the best in the world. Trenton has played a crucial role in shaping me as an artist, teaching me gratitude, lessons, and love. While my career has taken me to incredible places around the world, Trenton will always hold a special place in my heart. It has been wonderful exhibiting in all the spaces of this city, from The New Jersey State Museum. Thank you, Margaret, to the Trenton City Museum/Ellarslie Museum; thank you, Joan, and, of course, to Artworks Trenton. Thank you to Addison, Otis, Craig, Lank, Jesee, and the staff for (the stories we all have, haha); where the most lessons and love were received. I am happy to announce my last art exhibition in Trenton, NJ, "Te Veo," at La Galerie Adrienne, 192 West State Street, Trenton, NJ, on September 20, 2024.Torres' Te Veo is an exhibition that showcases a transformative blend of vivid, emotive landscape paintings and conceptual sculptures. Torres is a Puerto Rican multi-disciplinary Afro-
LatinX artist. In this collection of artworks she boldly explores the psychic space between energy and existence, of emotive human perspectives within the earthly environment. Her paintings
create "mindscapes" that transcend traditional landscapes, evoking urban abstract landscapes both formally and conceptually. Torres' techniques are in the service of art that is emotionally profound, inviting her viewers to connect with the depth in her work. Artworks will form the core of the La Galerie Adrienne exhibition, a tribute to Torre’s journey in her native city
Trenton, N.J. Torres produces art that is both a personal expression of her identity as an Afro-Caribbean feminist and an expression of a more universal consciousness and striving. “Abstract art belongs to all of us. Take the time to understand it, feel it, learn from it, come and have some
conversations with me,” Torres states.
