What does Te Tiriti o Waitangi mean today❓ Join us at Tawa Community Centre for Te Tiriti and Me, a panel kōrero featuring local Wellington personalities sharing their insights and reflections on the Treaty of Waitangi.
Coming to the community on Waitangi Day... Te Tiriti and Me is a travelling forum discussion led by four local personalities – Jamie McCaskill, Tanea Heke, Sameena Zehra and Dave Armstrong.
Together, they will discuss what The Treaty of Waitangi means to them as New Zealanders from a range of different cultures and backgrounds including: tangata whenua, immigrant, pākeha, mother, father, sibling, friend, artist, human. Jamie, Tanea, Sameena and Dave will also invite audiences to take part in the discussion – to share their stories, ask questions (even the challenging ones) and give perspectives. This is not an academic lecture about Te Tiriti. It’s grassroots, honest and deeply personal.
