Join us to celebrate Aotearoa’s national day at Te Rā o Waitangi 2025, Wellington City Council’s free annual Waitangi Day event ❤️🖤Bring your friends and whānau to Waitangi Park from 12 noon, 6pm on Thursday 6 February for live music, kai, activities celebrating Māori culture, and the spirit of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
He aha kei te haere? What to expect:
✨ Live performances showcasing tangata whenua and tangata tiriti talent
✨ 13 Multicultural food stalls and a fundraiser hāngi from midday (get in quick!)
✨ Arts, crafts, and family-friendly activities, including taonga tākaro Māori and kite-making workshops
✨ Special voice activation project: The Eggfruit by Barbarian Productions
This year, we reflect on tūrangawaewae (our places of belonging) and whakapapa (our connections), celebrating what unites us, the places we belong, and what makes us unique.
Gather your whānau and join us to honour our past, celebrate our present, and dream of our future together.
