“Swift stakes her claim as one of the most irresistibly talented jazz vocalists of her generation.” – Downbeat Growing up on the road with jazz-professional parents, Mack Avenue recording artist and vocalist Veronica Swift transcends boundaries, exploring French and Italian opera, European classical music, bossa nova, blues, industrial rock, funk, and vaudeville. After making her first appearance at Jazz at Lincoln Center at age 11 and winning second place at the Thelonious Monk 2015 Jazz Vocal Competition, she skyrocketed into an illustrious career. Her instant success included a weekly residency at Manhattan’s Birdland and collaborations with jazz icons like Chris Botti (such as at TD JazzFest 2023), Benny Green. and Wynton Marsalis. Swift’s latest album, self-titled and released as her third under Mack Avenue Records, marks a new chapter and showcases Swift's prowess in delivering the unexpected. On her previous albums, Confessions (2019) and This Bitter Earth (2021), she ascended to the upper echelon of early 21st century jazz singers because of her virtuosic brilliance, interpretive ingenuity, bracing songwriting, and keen arrangements. Simply put, Swift is not only one of the most dazzling singers to emerge in her generation; she is also one of the most versatile. Swift's evolution goes beyond jazz conventions, embracing a bold new direction that defies expectations. Her journey from the Great American Songbook to a more artistically authentic version of herself celebrates self-expression and invites listeners to do the same. Don't miss her extraordinary return to TD JazzFest, and secure your tickets now for an unforgettable performance at McPherson Playhouse!
