About this Event
Over the past two years, we’ve been energized to hear from colleagues across the country about innovative approaches to teaching, hands-on writing exercises, grading philosophies, and navigating the unique challenges that come with teaching in smaller and/or open-enrollment institutions. We’re excited to continue this conversation and, this year, invited submissions on the theme of “Joy.” As writers, we know that an artist’s path will be filled with obstacles, both material and creative, and we strongly believe that joy shores us up, helps us find our way back to the page, and can be a tremendous source of inspiration for our students and ourselves.
A full schedule of accepted proposals will be posted by September 15th.
In addition to our daytime conference presentations, we hope to offer engaging offsite activities in the evenings. Furthermore, while the conference will wrap up the morning of the 25th, all attendees will receive complimentary tickets to our 9th annual Creative Writing Forum, which opens at noon on the 25th. Our Keynote at this year's forum will be Julie Clark, author of the New York Time's bestselling novels The Last Flight, The Lies I Tell, and The Ghostwriter.
Please note, coffee service and Friday boxed lunch are included in your registration. Grab and go lunches for Saturday are available as an add-on.
Email [email protected] with questions.
For those traveling to Omaha, we recommend The Element Hotel (Midtown). A conference rate of 112 per night has been arranged. Additional information about reserving at that rate will be included in your registration email.
