Come to a concert to banish the January gloom! This is our first concert of trumpet concertos.The brilliant young duo of Reuben Anelay (trumpet) and Dafydd Chapman (piano) will play a concert of music by Bach, Handel, Code and Peskin at the Spire Church, Farnham, GU9 7QU at 3-00pm on Sunday 11 January. The concert will last just over an hour and has been arranged by TBS Concerts.
The programme is:
JS Bach (1685 - 1750): Concerto in D Major, BWV 972
Georg Frideric Handel (1685 - 1759): Suite in D Major, HWV 341
Percy Code (1888 - 1953): Zelda Caprice
JS Bach (1685 - 1750): Prelude and Fugue (solo piano)
Vladimir Peskin (1906 - 1988):L Trumpet Concerto No 1 in C minor
Vladimir Peskin was a Russian composer who wrote mostly for the trumpet and deserves to be better known. His trumpet concerto is a dazzling virtuoso piece, which is very demanding to play but wonderful to hear.

All are welcome and the concert is FREE ENTRY with a retiring collection where the recommended donation is at least £10, but donations are not expected for children and students. Music lovers who are unable to make a donation are still most welcome.
