Organizing for Political Action as People of Faith

Theology Beer Camp | October 16| 10:00am–4:00pm

United Theological Seminary

Join Doug Pagitt and Tim Conder—national faith leaders and veteran organizers—for a powerful, participatory day of training, inspiration, and practical equipping at Theology Beer Camp. In this full-day interactive session, we’ll explore how people of faith can organize effectively for political action rooted in love, justice, and community care.

Amid the rising tide of Christian nationalism, widespread disillusionment with politics, and the continued fallout from the Trump administration and MAGA movement, many people of faith are asking, “What can we do?” This event is the answer. Whether you're a pastor, activist, organizer, or just someone who knows it's time to get off the sidelines, this session will help you move from frustration to focused action—and from anger to hopeful engagement.

We’ll focus on the best practices for local and national organizing: how to talk to your congregation or community about politics without losing your voice (or your job), how to use storytelling and spiritual formation to activate change, and how to help others feel empowered—not paralyzed—by the state of our democracy.

Together, we’ll create a space to lament, learn, plan, and leave with a strategy. With an eye toward the 2026 and 2028 elections, this session will help you build your plan for faith-rooted civic engagement in the years ahead.

Expect laughter, provocation, music, good beer, and new friends ready to help shift the moral imagination of our country. If you want to confront the threat of MAGA politics while building a faithful alternative, this session is for you.

Come ready to engage. Leave ready to organize.

Ticket: $99 Note: This ticket does not include admission to the main Beer Camp event and is designed to be an optional add-on for those arriving early. Lunch not included.
