On New Year's Day 2026, intrepid Tulsa Bicycle Club members will gather, as they have for over twenty years, to usher in the New Year with a short bicycle ride, black-eyed peas (for good luck, don't ya know!), a champagne toast, and other goodies.What better way to begin a new cycling year?
We'll gather regardless of the weather... that said, and this being Oklahoma, it could be in the 70s on New Year's Day! Oh well, all the better for a nice ride. And if it's cold and nasty, we'll circle the parking lot a few times on our bikes and gather around a roaring fire.
The New Year's Day post-ride gathering will include black-eyed pea salad (thank you, Connie!) and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic bubbly to toast the new year. Mike will show up with a big pot of something hot and good. And others may bring a tasty snack or two to share.
