At the ripe old age of fourteen, Swift moved from Pennsylvania to Nashville in pursuit of a country music career and quickly succeeded by every measure imaginable. In 2005, she landed a recording contract with Big Machine Records and from that point on, she was unstoppable, dropping her self-titled album in 2006 to both popular and critical acclaim. Swift’s first three albums — Taylor Swift, Fearless, and Speak Now — were mainly country affairs with a smattering of cross-over tracks, including “Back to December” and “Mine.” But as time went on, Swift continued to embrace a poppier sound. 2012’s Red featured more pop songs than country and helped pave the way for Taylor to create her first full pop album, 2014’s Grammy winner for Album of the Year, 1989. Reputation, Lover, folklore, and evermore followed in 2017, 2019, July of 2020, and December of 2020, respectively, cementing Taylor Swift as one of the most-loved and most-decorated artists on the planet. Over the years, she’s amassed dozens of accolades for her songwriting and singing, including Grammy Awards, Brit Awards, Country Music Association Awards, MTV Music Awards, and even an Emmy. Taylor Swift also holds several dozen Guinness World Records and was named Woman of the Decade by Billboard for the 2010s.
