Why Offline?
Let’s face it, dating is a numbers game. We understand that the apps are exhausting and we want to provide a way to connect with people that feels natural. Our mission is to foster in-person connection and community by bringing things offline to meet people in your area!
Our goal is to provide an opportunity for people in a specific age range to mingle with others. Whether you walk out of here with a friend, a potential partner, or someone you’ve networked with, that’s a win!
What to Expect:
Whether you’re new to speed dating or COVID has hindered your social life, we want you to feel comfortable and prepared.
The evening will start with a classic speed dating set-up in which you and a potential partner will have 5 minutes to get to know each other. (Don't worry, we’ll provide you with some icebreakers and games to start the conversation).
Every participant will receive cards, so they can keep track of who they have dated. We will have a 10 minute break where you can use the washroom or grab another drink!
Once everyone’s had a chance to connect, we’ll have a Powerhour where you can mix and mingle with other singles, as well as partake in some games we’ll have set up for you to enjoy. Powerhour is your chance to connect with singles (exchange numbers or social media info) that you vibed with during the Speed Dating portion of the night.
Contact information of our participants will NOT be provided by Offline. This is not your average speed dating event - we aim to fuel connection and community by providing the opportunity to connect with people but are not a matchmaking service.
How to Prep:
Just be yourself! This is meant to be a low-stakes event, just come out and have fun! Poachers is a casual bar. We recommend wearing whatever you’re comfortable in. Email us at [email protected] with any questions.
Safety/Security:
We know Momma said don’t talk to strangers, but we’ll have security measures in place and volunteers to support you the entire night should you ever need it.
Parking:
Please don’t drink and drive! If you are planning on drinking, please ensure you’ve arranged a safe ride home.
If you’re planning on being our sober friend and commuting, here are a few parking options nearby:

- Free street parking is also available after 6 pm - along Clarence Street, Carling Street
Important Notes:
→ We have a required twenty-participant minimum due to the event structure. If we cannot meet this threshold, you will be notified via email 48-72 hours before the event and a refund will be issued. Tickets are non-refundable otherwise.
→ Please arrive on time. If you are more than 15 minutes late to the event, you will be unable to participate in the Speed Dating due to the demands of the event as well as respecting our participants' time. The Offline host reserves the right to fill your spot. There are no refunds or credits for people who show up late.
→ If a cancellation is made due to weather conditions no refund will be issued, a credit will be applied towards another event.
→ If you make an error while signing up for an event or if you sign up for an event that has already been sold out, the processing fee does not get returned.
→ We ask that you only purchase a ticket if you are within the age range.
