Take a tour of Taunton looking at the history of trade and industry.A hundred years ago this was still a manufacturing town with many factories and foundries. On this volunteer-led tour we will visit a variety of these previously industrial sites discussing the role of key industries such as cloth working, silk manufacturing and the shirt and collar factories. The development of structures to support the workers will also be explored including almshouses, shops, schools and the YMCA.

Walking duration approximately 2hrs.
The tour will start at the Museum of Somerset.
