About this Event
In many cases bodies of water are a fundamental influencing factor in a particular wine’s ability to achieve great balance. These bodies of water have a moderating effect on the climates of these regions. This results in a generally milder climate which shows fewer temperature extremes and a generally smaller temperature range.
Sicily is like a small continent surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea. Its dry, warm climate features regular sunshine and moderate rainfall that suits wine production. Arid conditions reduce the chance of rot and mildew, especially in areas kissed with coastal breezes.
With over 6,000 years of wine history, Greece has a diverse landscape which includes arid rocky soil to warm salty sea air. The diversity of the wine regions of Greece has allowed Greece to produce wines with distinct character as well as delicate flavors.
