Taste of Peace Ohio is spotlighting the country of Albania. Albania is a country in southeastern Europe which borders the Adriatic and Ionian Seas, between Greece to the south and Montenegro and Kosovo to the north. Albania has been a country in conflict for decades, falling to Communism from the mid-1960s until the early 1990’s. This led to economic collapse and civil disorder. In 1999, nearly half a million ethnic Albanians fled Kosovo to escape the war with the Serbs and return to Albania. You are invited to come and meet a young family who came to America in search of a better life. Enjoy the cuisine of Albania and learn more about the struggles of the Albanian people, their culture and how this family is trying to thrive in America.
