The vast majority of fossil discoveries are made by amateurs, and the Illinois State Fossil is no different. Francis Tully was an avid fossil collector, and "Tully's Monster" is one of his many contributions to paleontology. It's also just one entry in a long history of amateurs helping spur science forward and its within that context of passion-driven paleontological enterprise that citizen science can really take hold. Taste of ISM celebrates the work and passion of the team of the Illinois State Museum. You’re invited to join us for a lunch and learn style program where you’ll hear stories about art, history, science, and the magical world of museums. You are welcome to bring your lunch to eat during the program, but lunch is not provided.
This program will take place in-person at the ISM Research and Collection Center. This program will also be streamed over Zoom at https://bit.ly/TasteISMNov20. For more information, please contact [email protected] or (217) 782-5955.
