Tasche + The Angels is a vocal quartet comprised of band leader Tasche de la Rocha and the Angels: Joanna Tomassoni, Rachel Wolf, and Sabine McCalla. This group is a sonic fusion of psychedelic doo wop, soul, and Motown/R&B influenced by mermaid and siren mythology. Having worked together for eight years on Tasche’s original compositions, they share a deep musical connection, showcased in their haunting harmonies and intricately crafted arrangements. Both sinister and angelic, their sound evokes a ghostly choir blending elements of gospel, surf, and vaudeville. Tasche de la Rocha accompanies the Angels with both acoustic and electric guitar enhanced by psychedelic and organ-like analog pedals connected to a vintage tremolo tube amp. The group's tone is precise and calculated while embodying emotional freedom that is abstract and fluid. Roy Brenc will be on stand-up bass, anchoring the Angel’s sonic exploration of love, sorrow, joy, and human connection. With their synchronized chordal voices, attire, and chilling stage presence, Tasche and the Angels aim to summon both cathartic laughter and tears, creating a collective experience in reverberating environments.
