Tartine de Clous (Geoffroy Dudouit, Thomas Georget and Guillaume Maupin) are a singing trio originally from the department of Charente in western France. Following in the footsteps of some of the great French groups of the late 20th century folk revival (such as Mélusine and La Bamboche), they sing largely unaccompanied three-part harmony arrangements of the traditional songs of their native land.

"a beguiling mixture of conviviality and melancholy" "a beguiling world of traditional Francophone song, performed unaccompanied (or occasionally with a background drone) and recorded largely on the hoof: in bars, around tables, in the street, and with all the accompanying background noise that those situations dictated. The intention was to create a ‘veillée’ or vigil, where music exists in a real and physical human context. The result was a music that reached into the past but sounded grippingly present." (Klof Mag)
With support from Michael Walsh and Not Quite Light
Michael Walsh is a multidisciplinary performer steeped in the hotbed of the Manchster-Irish Traditional music scene. His 2019 album Quarehawk delved into the themes of loss, sexuality and the liminal space of the 2nd Generation Irish in Britain. “A punch in the gut and a tear in the eye”: Irish Music Magazine.
The artist Not Quite Light is based in Salford, and works with the half-light of dawn and dusk to tell stories of the places in which we exist using photography, film, text and sound.
MWNQL: Michael Walsh and Not Quite Light first performed together at Macc Lit Fest where their sold-out performance “On the way there, on the way back” dealt with relationships between fathers and sons and migration. They are due to release their first collaboration on Dimple DIscs later in the year.
