The Program
Beginning at Kapwa Gardens, join artists, poets, musicians, and dancers for a stroll down Mission Street before arriving at The Parks at 5M. Bring a blanket and sit on the grass to enjoy live music all afternoon and get your tarot read!
From 1-4pm, soak in the creative energy of art being made in real-time outdoors and inside 447 Minna during The Illusion Show, an interactive container of wonder that bridges the community with artists and musicians from a mix of disciplines and genres. Guests are invited to engage in the artistic collaboration through music, painting, drawing, and poetry.
On the 2nd floor at 447 Minna, view the pop-up exhibition of the visionary works that created the tarot deck. Capturing a moment in history unlike any other, this multidisciplinary collaboration brings together award-winning poet laureates, novelists, authors, muralists, painters, graphic artists, performance artists, musicians, and dancers, each committed to social, environmental, public health, and climate justice.
This exhibition will be on view from March 25 - April 15; gallery hours are Fri-Sun, 12-3pm.
Generously supported by #StartSmall and First Republic Foundation.
This event is inspired by Adrian Arias’ lucid dream of a fortune teller and cards embellished with images of viruses, masks, Black Lives Matter marches, and protests. Artwork for the deck was created in 2020 and later published by Nomadic Press in December 2021. Over 60 internationally recognized visual artists, writers, and poets with deep roots across the San Francisco Bay Area and spanning three generations participated in the project.
