Interested in deepening your understanding of the tarot’s minor arcana? Join us for a special event series exploring the ZODICAL DECANS, also known as a decan walk! The zodiacal decans divide each astrological sign into three segments, each lasting about ten days (or ten degrees). From Aries to Pisces season, we’ll cycle through fiery wands, earthy pentacles, airy swords, and watery cups — three full rotations throughout the year. (If this sounds a bit daunting, don’t worry — we’ll cover everything in an introductory session on March 27.)These 36 decanic periods align with the tarot’s minor arcana — cards 2 through 10 of wands, pentacles, swords, and cups — weaving astrology and tarot into a rich symbolic system. The year begins in Aries’ first decan, associated with the 2 of Wands, and ends in Pisces’ third decan, linked to the 10 of Cups.
We’ll meet thirteen times throughout the year, once per zodiac sign, plus an introductory session to kick things off. Each gathering will be a deep dive into the astrological and tarot associations of the period. Together, we’ll explore the cards, their planetary rulers, the corresponding major arcana, and how understanding this system can enhance your tarot practice.
Please note: This class is best suited for those with some tarot experience.
Guiding our decan walk is Sarah Wilder — library clerk, Reiki master, leatherworker, and devoted tarot explorer. Sarah works with both the Rider-Waite-Smith and Thoth systems, and will bring experience and enthusiasm to each session.

September 25 — Libra: 2/3/4 Swords and Justice/Adjustment
October 30 — Scorpio: 5/6/7 Cups and Death
December 4 — Sagittarius: 8/9/10 Wands and Temperance/Art
January 8, 2026 — Capricorn: 2/3/4 Pentacles and The Devil
January 29, 2026 — Aquarius: 5/6/7 Swords and The Star
February 26, 2026 — Pisces: 8/9/10 Cups and The Moon
