Mr. Domingo Garcia
Attorney Domingo Garcia is born of Mexican immigrants from very humble backgrounds; while dreaming of a bright future, he worked shining shoes and delivering newspapers, but through sacrifice and hard work, he became bigger than his dream by being elected as a Dallas Texas Citi Council member plus an influential elected official and Mayor Pro-Tem of the same city of Dallas, one of American’s top 10 cities.

Mr. Garcia has earned some of his degrees from Texas which include a bachelor’s in political science and his Doctorate in Jurisprudence. However, he obtained a Master’s degree of International Relations through a scholarship in Mexico City.

He is a former President of the National organization “League of United Latin American Citizens” which he led from 2018-2023. His passion and dedication to civil rights has kept him in the front lines of justice for most of his 40 years as an editorial columnist, broadcast commentator, and as a highly successful trial lawyer.

Attorney I. Jose Sanchez
Jose Sanchez was born in Mexico City, Mexico and came to USA at the early age of 5 years old as an undocumented immigrant; he has lived in in Longview, Texas ever since where he did most of his schooling – from Kindergarten to his Law degree – “however, he managed to take a few years in between to attend one of our National most prestigious Universities; Jose Sanchez achieved a Master’s degree in Public Administration from The Harvard Kennedy School of Government in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Mr. Sanchez’s accomplishments started early on and to highlight only a few: he was the salutatorian at his High School graduation, he organized an immigration march in 2006; in 2011, he was chosen by the Texas State Bar among 20 attorneys as the best of the group.
He is a dynamic, intelligent and hardworking leader to many, especially to the ever-growing Latino community in East Texas, where he influences and educates through his radio show, the local media, television, through his business and by being a friend to whoever he encounters.

HISPANIC CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OF LOUSIANA
The HCCL is a non-profit organization created as the result of a merger in 1999 of two chambers: The Louisiana Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (incorporated in 1984) and The Gulf Coast International Chamber of Commerce (incorporated in 1990). It is committed to creating and facilitating a business climate within the Hispanic community which will result in economic development and progress for Louisiana. Included within its focus is a dedication to the expansion of trade relations between the State of Louisiana and Latin America.
Just as HCCL works to build capacity in the Hispanic business community, so too does it work with traditional American businesses to help them approach this fastest growing minority population in the United States.

Dr. Michel Becerra
Dr. Michael Becerra is a Professor at LSU Shreveport; he serves as a bilingual vocational expert for the Social Security Administration's disability hearings; in addition, he owns a wellness center based in Shreveport.
Dr. Becerra has been committed for almost 20-years to the fields of education and research in counseling, He has extensive experience teaching and giving conference internationally, across various academic levels, including mentoring dissertations for post graduate students.
Dr. Becerra has several publications in an array of topics, from research in elementary rural schools to persons with disabilities and the family and Latino culture.
Dr. Becerra fosters positive transformations so individuals can excel in life transitions, challenges and the stress this brings in their lives; he is committed to the wellbeing of anyone he encounters in a friendly, personal and professional approach.

Rosalba Varela Quiroz
Rosalba was Born in Mexico City but grew up in several small towns in Mexico. She married a military man from Chicago and moved to USA over thirty years ago. She has lived in Japan, California but calls Louisiana her home, since she has lived in Bossier City for almost twenty-five years.

In the area of education, Rosalba, has a master’s degree in counseling, and several certifications, including one as a Paralegal, which she practiced by working in family law for over ten years.

She has worked for the Catholic Church for over twenty years in several areas including immigration, Hispanic ministry and currently as the Vice-Chancellor for the diocese. Her love and dedication to Pastoral Ministry, make her an asset to our community and a joy to for our event as she presents our speakers.
