Join us in a social setting to increase our understanding of affordability, access and the systems that shape our choices-and how they impact community health. Healthy Franklin County is partnering with South Central Community Action Programs (SCCAP) -- www.sccap.org -- on this important series. Tap Talks are free and open to the public. Wed., January 21, 2026- Megan Shreve, CEO, SCCAP. Topic: What It Really Costs to Live Here. Through a guided self-sufficiency exercise, participants will calculate what it takes for a household to meet basic needs. This workshop lays the groundwork for understanding affordability as a community-wide issue
Wed., February 18, 2026 - Megan Shreve, CEO, SCCAP. Topic: The Cost of Eating Well. Food access is a critical part of community health—and for many, groceries are unaffordable. This workshop breaks down how SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) works and policy drivers.
Wed., March 18, 2026 - Megan Shreve, CEO & Alana Andersen @Home Coordinator, SCCAP. Topic: Housing on the Brink. Affordable housing is out of reach for many due to lack of inventory and rising costs. We’ll look at market trends and housing access programs, including vouchers, public housing, and income-based options.
Wed., April 15, 2026 - Megan Shreve, CEO & Alana Andersen, @Home Coordinator, SCCAP. Topic: Housing Systems & Solutions. This final session examines how the broader
housing system functions. Participants will also learn about local collaborative efforts to
address housing shortages and improve affordability.
