About this Event
Tantrums, Big Feelings & Anxiety: What Parents Can Do in the Moment
Big emotions are a normal part of childhood, but knowing how to respond in the moment can feel overwhelming for parents.
Tantrums, anxiety, meltdowns, crying, fear, frustration…
Many parents wonder:
- What should I say when my child is losing control?
- Am I making things worse without realizing it?
- How can I help my child calm down instead of escalating the situation?
This interactive, in-person workshop by a mental health therapist is designed to help parents feel more confident, calmer, and better equipped when their child is experiencing big emotions.
What you’ll learn
In this workshop, you’ll learn:
- Why children have big emotional reactions (in simple, parent-friendly language)
- What actually helps kids calm down — and what unintentionally makes things worse
- Practical in-the-moment strategies you can use during tantrums or anxiety
- How to support emotional regulation without shaming, yelling, or ignoring feelings
- Simple language and responses you can start using immediately at home
This is not a lecture — it’s practical, compassionate, and realistic for everyday family life.
