Tantra Ritual: Skakti Puja - Adoration of the Divine Feminine

A Tantra Adoration Ritual is a way of honoring and adoring the divine that dwells within us all. The subtle sensual energies residing within our bodies are invoked, revered, and welcomed as honored guests at this feast of love.

This ancient ritual is thousands of years old. It was brought to life by Tantrikas who implemented the religious and spiritual practices of Yogis and sages into the Art of Adoration, the practice of breathing life and awareness in offering to the divine within every living being.

For this ritual the Divine Masculine (Shiva) will be in the “receiving role” And the Divine feminine (Shakti) will be in the “giving” role. Please see below the context in which the words masculine & feminine are identified for this event.

Shiva: Masculine human beings who enjoy being in the masculine energy. Human beings born in a male formed body. Human beings who identify as a man or masculine energy, and beings who do not like labels and look forward to being in the giving role.

Shakti: Feminine human beings who enjoy being in the feminine energy. Human beings born in a female formed body. Human beings who identify as a woman or feminine energy, and beings who do not like labels and look forward to being in the receiving role.

HOW IS THIS EXPERIENCED?

The presentation begins with an introduction and some history to some of the esoteric practices of Tantra to give us a context for the {Puja}. We will then switch gears and engage in this mindful and connective practice. We will be using breath, flowers, movement, fire, incense, and even sacred ash; all given to us with ample instructions and guidance, enriching each experience throughout the ceremony. You may find yourself turning inwards and becoming aware of abundant love and innate beauty that is part of your being.

By opening up to receive unconditionally from the feminine, the masculine experience a connection way beyond anything they have ever experienced. They get to see the feminine open up and express their adoration and love without fear and with no expectations. The feminine, in turn, get to witness the masculine soften, open up and receive without conditions. They get to experience how the masculine can truly hold space for a feminine without need or a goal-oriented result.

WHAT TO BRING?

• Please Bring a yoga mat if you have one
• Anything else you wish to share with 20 people or
• Something you wish to place on the alter to be energetically charged during the ritual

WHAT TO WEAR

Shivas, though not required, you are welcome to dress to impress for the evening – perhaps favourite colour or texture attire, with funky socks, jewellery, etc. Think of the times the goddesses in your lives had asked you to dress a certain way for their pleasure – well, this may be an opportunity to do just that, AND please be comfortable in your choice of clothing. Come with an open heart and an open mind, ready to receive and accept what the Goddesses wish to gift you.

Shakti, though not required, you are welcome to dress to impress for the evening – perhaps your favourite colour or texture outfit, adorn yourself with jewelry you feel most happy in or wear that special scarf you love. Indulge yourself as you wish, AND please be comfortable in your choice of clothing.
