The spring term preliminary starts 12 of January
The program includes following classes:
* TANGO TECHNIQUE TRAINING SOLO 90 min ( Tuesdays)
* TANGOBARRE 90 min (Thursdays)
* BALANCE & STABILITY TRAINING 60 min (Saturdays)
* DANCERS FEET FOOT TRAINING 60 min (Saturdays)
* "FAST FEET" (tango/vals/milonga, solo) 60 min (Sundays)
* EXCERCISES FOR CONNECTION (partnering) 60 min (Sundays)
* NEW: TANGO SOLO EXCERCISES FOR IMPROVISATION (creativity, musicality & expression)
Minimum amount of classes that will take place during the term:

WHERE? Studio MindMoves, Brantingsgatan 41. Right by the T- Gärdet. About 5 min (T-bana towards Ropsten) from T-Centralen.
Classes are in Swedish or in English, when needed.
ABOUT CLASSES:
You can be a tango dancer who wants a proper training structure together with other like minded.
Or someone who wants to start tango by focusing on the individual skills (plus connection skills) and expressions.
You can use classes in the program as complement to other parts of your tango journey, or enjoy the benefits of the program as a whole.
This approach gives you tools for your tango journey that help you become more confident, have more fun (!) and improve faster, no matter how your partner-dancing-situation is.
We focus on individual skills, body mechanics, mobility, coordination, balance, stability, velocity, movement quality. We strengthen the body and its musicality in the process.
Classes are structured and include continuous instructions, input and suggestions for corrections/focus/study.
We encourage open mind, curiosity and trust in your own process: research on what works for you best, builds your dance and increases your confidence.
You are welcome to adjust the level of physical demand so it suits you.
All classes are "unisex".
Tangobarre is more focused on adornos, but of course everyone is welcome.
Every now and then we do performance projects: we might ask people who train most consistently to join. Let us know if you are interested.
HOW TO JOIN
The most special thing about this program is that you can sign up for a periodic card that allows you to train more without having to pay more. Consistency is the key.
* For "terminskort" (periodcard; we have two options:
one for the tango program and one that is for all JLDance classes, including tango.
* clip card ( use the hours during the same period and keep track of your hours)
* when there is space you can also join as drop in
All classes are open classes; you can mix as you like.

SCHEDULE:
Tuesdays 17.30-19 TANGO SOLO TECHNIQUE TRAINING
Systematic training of individual technique based on flow of exercises, a lot of repetition
Thursdays 17.30-19 TANGOBARRE
Individual technique by the barre, more focus on adornos.
Sometimes we film "afterclass demo" after the class (about 5 minutes; you choose if you want to join or not)
Saturdays
12.00 DANCERS FEET FOOT TRAINING
Flow of excercises to increase strenght, mobilility and articulation of the feet. Works as prehab!
13.00 BALANCE & STABILITY TRAINING
Flow of excercises to train balance, stability, proprioception. One of the best things you can do to dance more confident and free!
Sundays
14-15
TANGO SOLO "FAST FEET"
Tango/milonga/vals: individual technique with more focus on precision, rhythm and velocity. Short combinations to music, you will be dancing and sweating :)
EXCERCISES FOR CONNECTION - technique training in context of partnering/ connection
* Flow of exercises where we train connection, its nuances and adaptability.
* We partner up so that everyone can "lead and follow" ; we rotate both partners and roles. If you prefer you can decide with a partner not to rotate.
* We use props and open practice embrace
* In this class we move slowly so you will also be practicing balance, mindfulness and body awareness.
EXCERCISES FOR IMPROVISATION (creativity, musicality & expression)
In this class we practice improvisation in a structured way.
We use the music that is too variable for other classes, such as Pugliese.
IMPROTANT: if any of the classes have to be cancelled for example due to illness, the class/es will replaced: the class will be added in the end of the period.

A little bit about Jojo
Jojo has been teaching dance around 20 years. Except for tango, she is trained in a wide variety of dances; Afro-Latin dances, ballet, contemporary dance and several others. Some of her formal studies in dance and movement include: Dance and Folk Culture, Creative dance (improvisation & composition, dance pedagogy in creative dance and dance as an art form), Klein Technique, Dance & Movement Therapy, Anatomy Trains in Motion, Movement Mapping™ and teacher training in yoga. Jojo is also Psychologist and Dance Movement Therapist and studio owner. She loves training dance, social dancing, taking classes, creating dances, choreographing and performing when it s a part of a creative process.
