Alex Pacheco, from Mexico City, has been dancing social tango since 2006. They have been teaching for more than 10 years, working in queer tango and transfeminist tango. Their workshops are centered on making dancing comfortable for the body and freeing it to focus on the dialogue within the couple. They are interested in tango as a tool to build communities that can be spaces for social transformation.
Alex's trip to the Bay Area is sponsored by Abrazo Queer Tango, which also hosts tango classes in Berkeley! Check out their classes on Sunday afternoons: https://abrazoqueertango.wordpress.com/ Alex is at right in the photo above.
