Let's meet one more time in a relaxed atmosphere to spend a cozy afternoon of conversation and dance with delicious mate drink. With a special guest, we prepare the mate and guide you through the secrets of mate making. Then we open a conversation about a topic related to tango in a relaxed environment while we enjoy delicious snacks and drink mate (also coffee and tea are available). Then our guest offers a short guided session where we put into practice some aspect of the topics discussed and then the floor is open to dance in our practilonga!
You are welcome to join for the whole event or only practilonga.
For this third edition our guests are Anna (FI) and Mauricio (AR). The topic for our discussion will be the milonga codes.
What are the codes for and are they necessary on the dance floor? Are they strict rules or is there room for interpretation? How does the invitation to dance differ in Argentine Tango from other dances? These are some questions we will try to reflect upon together. The conversation will flow to different and perhaps unexpected directions as we all participate in it with comments, observations, experiences, jokes, questions.

Anna Häkli (FI) and Mauricio Rodriguez (AR) are tango dancers and scholars. They trained with renowned maestros in Buenos Aires, where they lived for several years and return regularly, specializing in the tango salon style. In addition, they studied the history of tango and musicalization at CETBA, where they completed the annual course, and at the Instituto Argentino del Tango. They are also collectors of tango vinyls and books. They have attended numerous milongas in Buenos Aires, from the alternative milongas to the most traditional ones. When in Buenos Aires, they are regular milongueros in some of the typical milongas of the city.
