Tāne's Tamariki
A programme for tamariki and parents to connect with each other in nature
BAREFOOTED NZ IN PARTNERSHIP WITH AUCKLAND COUNCIL
NGAHERE
The manu (birds), the ngārara (insects), the ngahere (bush), it’s all there
waiting for us to explore in our local parks … and we reckon using all our
senses is the best way to connect with nature and Papatūānuku!
Tāne’s Tamariki is a 2 hour FREE play-based, child-led, sensory experience,
designed to connect you and your tamariki / moko with nature, through
nature-based activities aimed at 0-6 years (although all ages love it!). An
assortment of stations will be setup, each one focusing on one of our five
senses. Activities will also focus on creating a sense of kaitiakitanga for our
natural environment in a fun and interactive way. We also do a craft project
that the tamariki can take home.
