JOIN TEAM TAMPA BRAIN BOOSTERS!Both our girls were diagnosed within the past year with an uncommonly diagnosed autoimmune disorder that the majority of the population has NEVER even heard of. Just in the first year of our journey, they've been poked several times, had multiple ER trips and a consistent schedule of specialist appointments. It's been a wild ride, they've been through some really painful moments already, and it could be a long road. Our next step, is to add in two more specialists to see if we could get them IVIG infusions - a transfer of healthy blood antibodies to strengthen their immune systems.
Long story short, it sucks.
If we're close, you know I typically host a local ladies night get together in the fall. This year, knowing about PANS/PANDAS and also that the annual awareness date is October 9th, I wanted somehow to tie the two. October is also mental health awareness month, do a little google search, this disease causes sudden onset of neuropsychiatric symptoms and it is serious.
October 4th, the Look. Foundation that raises money to support the research and care of PANS/PANDAS medical professionals and families hosts a 3K in Boston. Yes, I know we're not in Boston BUT we can participate here in Tampa and just know in our hearts we're supporting these kiddos that are struggling with neuropsychiatic symptons from PANS/PANDAS, including MINE!
Please join me on October 4th at my home at 10am we will walk a 3K in my neighborhood and follow it up with brunch! My only ask, please register through my Look. Foundation team Tampa Brain Boosters, it's $30 for an adult and $15 a kiddo. This is a severely underfunded medical challenge that 1 in 200 kids are affected by. Who knows what that statistic would change to IF they had the funding to provide more research, educate more medical professionals and educate the community?!! I don't want you to bring A SINGLE THING to brunch. I just ask that you help support the foundations mission with a small virtual walk/runner donation by signing up and join us at our home for hopefully a fully packed house boozy brunch!
