About Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown: Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown is the current Mayor of North Las Vegas, having assumed office on December 1, 2022. She made history as the first Black woman to hold this position. Prior to her mayoral role, she served as a Councilwoman for North Las Vegas’ Ward 2 and was the first female African American Councilwoman and Mayor Pro-Tempore. With a background in education, Mayor Goynes-Brown has dedicated over 35 years to the Clark County School District as an assistant principal. She holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Prairie View A&M University and a master’s degree in elementary education from Nova Southeastern University.
