Tamara Murphy and The Golden Tone Retrievers’ launch their debut album!!!!!Remind Me Not to Forget is the first full-length album from Tamara Murphy as a lead vocalist, featuring her stellar band, The Golden Tone Retrievers.
This lush album flips between genres, from introspective dream-pop worlds to extroverted 80s-rock anthems, glimpses of electronica and folk music textures, intricately detailed soundscapes balanced with moments of chaos, all held together with strong melodic themes.
To celebrate the release, they will be playing a matinee show at the Northcote Social Club on October 27, joined by The Remotes.
The Remotes are a sublime duo, featuring Ollie Browne and Kristian Brenchley. Ollie fronts slow-burning Melbourne guitar band Art of Fighting and Kristian played lead guitar for noise rockers S:Bahn back in the late '90s. In mid 1998, after these two bands shared a few bills together, the pair decided to combine Ollie's non-AOF tunes with Kristian's impressionistic lead guitar. It’s their first gig in Australia in many years, so this is a special treat!
