Developed by the Beeyali team, Tallo Billa (meaning Humpback Whale in Kabi Kabi language) uses original cymatic visualizing techniques to create distinct audio-visual portraits through underwater soundscapes and activated by hydrophones. The Beeyali project, conceived by Kabi Kabi artist Lyndon Davis, in collaboration with sound artist Dr Leah Barclay and photographer Dr Tricia King from the University of the Sunshine Coast, combines Indigenous knowledge, emerging science, and innovative technology to connect people with the environment. This is our third year collaborating with the Beeyali team, and we are so excited to invite you onboard Whale One as we head out from Mooloolaba for a sunset whale watching tour, before anchoring at Mudjimba Island to immerse in First Nations storytelling, live humpback whale song captured by hydrophones deployed off the vessel, didgeridoo, and original artwork by Lyndon Davis projected cymatically (visual representation of soundscapes displayed THROUGH Lyndon's artworks!!!)
This a life changing experience you won't want to miss!
