• Unique Ecosystem: The park features a continuous canopy of cypress trees transitioning to slash pines, with shallow willow and pond apple depressions, sabal palm heads, red maples, and strangler fig trees interspersed within the landscape.
• Lush Understory: The understory is rich with sword and leather ferns, saw palmetto, swamp lilies, wild coffee, beautyberry, and other basin swamp plants, creating a dense and vibrant habitat that's challenging to traverse on foot outside of the boardwalk.
