TALK's 3rd IT Leadership Symposium

TALK will hold its 3rd IT Leadership Symposium on Oct. 14th at 8:30 AM at the Flashcube Building, 12th Floor Conference Room, for IT Leaders interested in building stronger teams and exploring how to lead in both hybrid or back-to-the-office environments. This will be led by Dr. Vanessa Shannon, CMPC, who will delve into "The Psychology of Teams: Enhancing Collaboration and Performance in IT." This is a two-hour symposium with 30-minutes for networking and coffee/donuts at 8 AM.

Dr. Vanessa Shannon is a certified mental performance consultant (CMPC) with over 20 years of experience. Applying her experience working in elite level performance and using evidence-based strategies, she teaches individuals and organizations how to minimize disruption, maximize potential and work, and optimize performance.

Before transitioning into private consulting, Dr. Shannon worked for the Cincinnati Reds, the University of Louisville Athletic Department, and IMG Academy. She spent the first 8 years of her career in academia as a department chair at Tennessee Wesleyan University and a faculty member at West Virginia University.

Dr. Shannon has been invited to speak to teams, organizations, and universities across North America and throughout Europe and she has authored and co-authored numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles. She holds a PhD in Education with a specialization in Performance Psychology from the University of Tennessee, a MS in Exercise Psychology from Kansas State University, and a BA in Health and Human Performance from Rice University where she was a member of the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Team.
