Class Description: Much of what we throw in our trash cans is not necessarily waste – items can keep their value by being reused, recycled, or composted instead! With the tools to reduce what goes in your trash, you can realize how reducing, reusing and recycling can save natural resources and decrease carbon emissions. Not only will you get an overview of how waste is handled in the northwest Michigan area, you will also build your confidence of what item goes in which bin with a hands-on waste sorting activity.
Meeting location: Historic Barns Park “Workshop 223” – From Silver Drive entrance, make a Left at the first stop sign, first building on the left. Look for the SEEDS flags!
* This course qualifies toward the Naturalist Certificate.
