Come spend an evening exploring Columbus’ historic city cemetery at Talking Tombstones 2024! Hosted by the Bartholomew County Historical Society, and in partnership with the Columbus Parks & Recreation Department, listen to actors and reenactors share the story of some of Columbus’ most notable residents of bygone eras who were laid to rest in City Cemetery. Additionally, learn more about City Cemetery and its’ history! NEW this year we will have food trucks stationed outside of the cemetery for you to get a bite to eat before or after you roam the cemetery!
Tickets are available for purchase on Eventbrite, at the Bartholomew County Historical Society Museum at 524 Third Street, Columbus, IN, or at the north and south gates of City Cemetery the night of May 9th. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 night of the event, with 5 and under free. This is the perfect event to bring the entire family!
We have a rain date set for Thursday, May 23rd. Due to the terrain of the cemetery, this event is not ADA accessible. While there are many actors on the pathway, there are some off the path. Seating will not be available.
Talking Tombstones 2024 is a fundraiser for the Bartholomew County Historical Society and the Columbus Parks & Recreation Department.
City Cemetery is located between 16th and 19th streets, entry to event is at the gates on both 16th and 19th streets.
Parking is available between Donner Center and the cemetery, as well as street parking.
