Agenda

🕑: 08:30 AM
Coffee and Conversations
Welcome: Leanne Chambers, Managing Director, NRG and Greenbean

Info: Leanne will welcome attendees and introduce the Talking Talent Acquisition network as a dedicated space for in-house recruitment professionals to connect, collaborate, and share insight. She will explain why NRG is launching this initiative, how the network will support in-house TA teams in shaping the future of recruitment, and what to expect from the morning.

Keynote Presentation, Neil Carberry, Chief Executive, REC

Info: Neil will provide a thought-provoking view of the current and future state of recruitment, addressing the scale of the talent gap in the UK, management and economic pressures, shifting workforce expectations, and the importance of professionalising recruitment. The session will include time for audience questions.

Interactive Group Activity: Re-designing the Recruitment Process

Info: An engaging and collaborative exercise designed to spark discussion and share best practice. Participants will reflect on the biggest challenges in their recruitment process, map the end to end candidate journey, and identify one priority area for improvement. Using a simplified recruitment process diagnostic, groups will share quick wins and longer-term ideas that they can take back to their organisations. Outputs captured via Slido and flipcharts will help shape future Talking Talent Acquisition sessions.

Fireside Chat: Helen Wilson, Chief Operating Officer, Atom Bank

Info: A conversational session hosted by Julie Mordue, Associate Director of Marketing & Partnerships, NRG and Greenbean. Julie will be exploring how Atom Bank built a challenger brand from scratch, developed a strong employer brand, and attracted highly specialist talent from London to the North East. Discussion points may include building an EVP for an unknown brand, recruiting for highly technical and regulated roles, and lessons learned from scaling a business with purpose and culture at its core.
