About this Event
Talking bell is a book club for folks to come together to talk about race, gender, class and sexual oppression under the guidance of bell hooks work.
Communion: The Female Search for Love
Intimate, revealing, provocative, Communion challenges every female to courageously claim the search for love as the heroic journey we must all choose to be truly free. In her trademark commanding and lucid language, hooks explores the ways ideas about women and love were changed by feminist movement, by women's full participation in the workforce, and by the culture of self-help.

About Adanne
At Adanne, we plan to transform the lives of our community. As a gathering place for Black intellectual thought and literature, we have high hopes of stimulating a generation of students, intellectuals, writers and artists. Our planned impact is to reignite reading and readership across Black America to uncover true Black and Brown history. In this generation of increased censorship and critical race theory antagonists, we plan to normalize and cement Black history and multicultural studies as valid, valuable, enriching and fundamental for our future.
