The penultimate talk in our series of six, on 11th September by Dr Amy Frost, is The Beckfords and the Transatlantic slave trade.The Beckford wealth, built upon enslavement of African people, enabled the younger Beckford to create extravagent buildings filled with beautiful objects. This talk reveals the brutality behind the beauty.
Amy Frost is Senior Curator at the Bath Preservation Trust with responsibility for Lansdown Tower.
The talk takes place at the United Church on Thursday 11th September, 10 St Margaret’s Street, BoA. Doors open at 7pm for refreshments, and talk commences at 7.30pm. Tickets £7/£9 for members and non members with drinks provided.
