Le photographe présentera son dernier livre "Levant", une traversée du Bosphore ce détroit qui relie la mer Noire à la Méditerranée, frontière géographique entre l'Orient et l'Occident. "Levant" explore d'Est en Ouest - des Balkans au Caucase, de l'Ukraine à l'Iran, l'Irak, la Syrie et au-delà - les dilemmes d’une vaste région de confluences et de tensions culturelles où se déroulent plusieurs théâtres de guerre.

The talk will be in French.
The photographer will present his latest book "Levant" who offers to cross the Bosphorus which connects the Black Seas and the Mediterranean, the geographical border between East and West. "Levant" explores from East to West – from the Balkans to the Caucasus, from Ukraine to Iran, Iraq, Syria and beyond – the dilemmas of a vast region of confluences and cultural tensions where several theaters take place of war.

est un photographe indépendant diplômé en philosophie, géographie et journalisme, trois disciplines qui l'ont accompagnées dans ses enquêtes. Son travail explore des territoires en tension, des frontières en rupture et questionne les notions d’identité culturelle, de mémoire, de migration, d’exil. Après avoir travaillé au quotidien Sud Ouest de 2001 à 2005, il réalise des reportages en Afrique de l’Ouest (Sénégal, Niger), puis un projet documentaire sur les Tsiganes en Turquie. Depuis 2009, il participe à des expositions collectives et individuelles en France et en Turquie.
Nathalie Atlan-Landaburu est propriétaire de la galerie Hegoa.

Matthieu Chazal is a freelance photographer with a degree in philosophy, geography and journalism, three disciplines that have accompanied him on his investigations. His work explores territories in tension, borders in rupture and questions notions of cultural identity, memory, migration and exile. After working for the daily Sud Ouest from 2001 to 2005, he went on to report from West Africa (Senegal, Niger), followed by a documentary project on gypsies in Turkey. Since 2009 he has taken part in group and solo exhibitions in France and Turkey.
Nathalie Atlan-Landaburu is the owner of the Hegoa gallery.
